Emily Duncan, Valedictorian
The Greenville Central School Faculty and Administration is proud to name Emily Duncan as Valedictorian for the class of 2021. Emily is the daughter of Michael and Jennifer Duncan of Medusa. On June 26, 2021, she will receive her New York State Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors with Mastery in both Math and Science, having earned a weighted average of 101.82. Emily is currently on track to receive an International Baccalaureate Diploma and has participated in multiple Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Along with being an excellent academic student, Emily has been involved with the FFA, served as Secretary of the Student Council, is a member of the National Honor Society, and serves as Vice President of her class. She also attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference as a sophomore. Rounding out her high school career, she also played on the Girls’ JV and Varsity Basketball teams as a Shooting Guard, the Concert Band as a Percussionist, being selected for the Greene County All-County band for six years, and Jazz Band as a Pianist. Emily will continue her post-secondary studies majoring in Animal Science at Cornell University.
Benjamin Gorneau, Salutatorian
The Greenville Central School District is proud to name Benjamin Gorneau as Salutatorian for the class of 2021. Ben is the son of Arthur and Deanna Gorneau of Freehold. On June 26, 2021, he will receive his New York State Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors with Mastery in Math and Science, having earned a weighted average of 101.34. Ben has participated in multiple Honors, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses. While Ben has been academically successful, he has been involved as President of the Student Council, Vice President of the National Honor Society, and serves as President of his class. He is also a student trustee of the Greenville Educational Foundation, and attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference as a sophomore. Ben has also played on the Varsity Tennis teams, was Manager of the Girls’ Varsity Tennis team, and was captain of the Varsity Volleyball team. He played Tuba in the Concert Band, being selected to the All-County Band numerous times. Ben will attend Georgia Tech majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Aerospace Engineering.
3. Gavin Metcalf
Gavin is the son of Christopher Metcalf and Amy-Beth Hernandez-Metcalf of Freehold. He will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery in Math and Science. Gavin will attend SUNY Binghamton majoring in Biology.
4. Hailey Cummings
Hailey is the daughter of Megan Goff of Greenville and Jim Cummings of Middlegrove. She will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Mastery in Math and Science. Hailey will attend Belmont University majoring in Mathematics.
5. Tess Fitzmaurice
Tess is the daughter of James and Jacquie Fitzmaurice of Greenville. She will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma. Tess will attend University at Albany majoring in psychology.
6. Tess Herwick
Tess is the daughter of Denise Herwick of Delmar and Charlie Herwick of Coxsackie. She will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma. Tess will attend Marymount Manhattan College majoring in Communication Arts.
7. Kyle Thompson
Kyle is the son of Jason and Kelly Thompson of Freehold. He will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Mastery in Math and Science. Kyle will be seeking employment after graduation.
8. Cassidy Augstein
Cassidy is the daughter of Neal and Eleanor Augstein of Greenville. She will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery in Math and Science. Cassidy will attend SUNY Cortland majoring in Early Childhood Education.
9. Skylar Pettit
Skylar is the daughter of Justin and Janet Pettit of Earlton. She will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Mastery in Math and Science. Skylar will attend Columbia-Greene Community College majoring in Mathematics and Science.
10. Ryan Russell
Ryan is the son of Tadhg and Corbette Russell of East Durham. He will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery in Math and Science. Ryan will attend Union College majoring in Engineering.
