Hello Kindergarten Families!
First of all, thank you for your patience as we wait for specific information concerning the fall of 2020. All of our lives have been impacted by covid-19 in many ways, which is really difficult. However, you are doing what needs to be done for yourselves and your children, so thank you!
We have been looking forward to meeting our youngest students, and are ready to welcome them to Scott M. Ellis for their first visit: Kindergarten Screening! We learn so much about your child’s growth (physically, emotionally and developmentally) from this fun activity.
As a special treat for our newest students, Kindergarten Screening will take place in our new open-air pavilion. They will be the first students to use the space! Being outdoors will also help us to follow social distancing and appropriate precautions. Please note the following directions:
Parents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair so they have a comfortable place to sit while their child completes the screening. The screening usually takes 30-45 minutes.
Families should arrive at the north parking lot no earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled screening time. Parents and children are required to wear a mask when interacting with school staff. A greeter will welcome each child and conduct a quick health screening.
Kindergarteners and one adult should walk to the pavilion. During the screening children will complete three workstations. Once children complete the screening, parents will review the completed tasks with a member of our school staff.
Screening is scheduled over several days (7/28, 7/30 and 8/3) to best fit families busy summer schedules. Click below to sign up online for your screening appointment, if you haven’t already done so. Link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040449A9A929ABF58-kindergarten1
You are always welcome to call the main office with questions or concerns (518.966.5070 x 301). The office is open Monday-Thursday 7:30-3:00 during the summer months. In the meantime, enjoy the summer weather and make many memories together!
