COVID-19 FACTS
Information on the COVID-19 virus is everywhere you look. There is information on social media, the internet, on TV, and in newspapers. So the problem is... what sources do you trust?
The CDC web site has up to date information and has an easy to understand “Coronavirus Disease 2019 - Frequently Asked Questions” page. Also, Greene County Public Health and Albany County Public Health have websites with local information (phone numbers are listed on these sites also). These are reliable and trustworthy sources.
At this time there is no cure for Covid-19; many of the so-called medical treatments on social media and various web sites can be dangerous. Always call your health care provider for all medical questions. Remember children can still get injuries, strep throat and earaches!
Staying home and social distancing is still the most effective way to stay healthy. Cleaning surfaces with common household disinfectants, washing hands, and using hand sanitizers (as directed on label) are effective at curbing the spread of the virus. Using a cloth face covering when going out where social distancing cannot be maintained is required.
If any member of your household shows any symptoms of illness such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell, CALL YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER. Do not take any medication unless your healthcare provider advises you to do so.
We know that this is a very difficult time for all members of our school community, please know that you can reach out to the Health Office with questions; email us at wargae@greenvillecsd.org and collinss@greenvillecsd.org.
As always, stay safe and healthy,
