Superintendent Michael Bennett sat down with News 10 to reflect on his career in education and the path that led him to Greenville.
"It has been twenty years since a 16-year-old opened fire at a high school in the Capital Region. The violent incident took place inside the halls of Columbia High School in East Greenbush. The only person physically injured that day by a gunshot was Michael Bennett, who is now the Superintendent at the Greenville Central School District. The halls of Greenville High are quick to fill with the hurried steps of students, just like you would find at any other school. But what you won’t find in most schools, is Michael Bennett, the man in charge of the entire district waiting outside of a classroom, instead of sitting in an office."
Thank you for sharing your story, Mr. Bennett. You are an inspiration!
